Making the difference: flooring and the environment

Uplyfted has proudly delivered renewed modular carpet for
ateb, in Pembrokeshire.

Since April 2024, we have worked with ateb bringing warmth and comfort to over 20 of their void properties before being let, ensuring durable and comfortable flooring for their residents.

Housing Associations in Wales were mandated by the Welsh Housing Quality Standard (WHQS) from April 2024 to include floor coverings in new lets.

ateb went above and beyond. Why?

Because they are not only complying with the WHQS, but also creating significant savings in carbon emissions – procuring their way towards Net Zero. Smart, right?

How?

Our renewed modular carpet is ultra-low carbon. All 23 properties, on average, accounted for 0.58 kg of CO2e per m2. That’s 94% less than the carbon footprint of new modular carpet, which averages 9kg of CO2e per m2.

Yes, a 94% reduction. Meaning ateb’s housing stock’s embodied carbon stays low whilst delivering social value to their customers.

In addition, ateb also valued the aesthetics of our products installed and our customer service.

"It looks great, thanks to you and your team for going the extra mile."
Paul Edwards
ateb, Maintenance and Void Manager
"Looks stunning. The gentleman installing the tiles was lovely, he was so nice. Nothing was too much bother, and he was there till 8 o'clock last night. He was brilliant"
